Jesus was now taken down from the Cross and placed in the arms of His sorrowful Mother. What thoughts must have passed through Mother Mary's mind as she held Her son in Her arms? It must have broken Her dear Heart and filled Her eyes with tears to see the son she loved, the son she brought into this world, the little boy she once thought she had lost when He was not with Joseph and her on the return home from the temple, the obedient son who changed water into wine at the wedding of cana, the son who was known as a preacher, Healer, Miracle-Worker, but to her was always her little boy whom she had put on her knee and narrated stories to, that very Son once so full of life and vitality, now limp and lifeless in her arms.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are the Resurrection and the life. May we stand before the world as Your witnesses, living signs of the living God.
( We adore thee, O Chirst, and we bless/parise thee.
Because by thy holy cross, Thou hast redeemed the world.)
